GeekWerx Pricing

Having spent some time looking around at what's being charged for hosting these days, it seems completely random. Here's what we think is reasonable:

domain registration:

• this varies by top-level domain, and can be changed without us knowing; you'll have to look up the domain you're interested in to find out what it costs

shared-server hosting:

• email account on @geekwerx.com - $25/year
• shell account on GeekWerx shell server - $25/year

self-managed hosting:

• DNS, 1 domain - $10/year
• DNS/email/web, 1 domain - $10/month
  
  • additional email subdomain - $5/month
  • additional web site - $5/month

virtual server hosting:

• base VM (1 core, 1G RAM, 16G disk) - $15/month
  
  • additional CPU core - $5/month
  • additional 1G RAM - $5/month
  • additional 16G disk - $5/month
  • additional IP address - $2/month

We generally charge a setup fee equal to 1 month of the hosting price. Once you're signed up for a hosting package with us, adding more of the same is 50% off the initial price.

We don't have set pricing for anything else; that's all negotiated.
